RESOLUTION NO. 1341

A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF WICKENBURG, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE INTERIM TRAFFIC IMPROVEMENT SOLUTION AS SUBMITTED BY THE MAYOR’S TRANSPORTATION OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE OF THE TOWN OF WICKENBURG

Whereas, the Town Council has adopted Resolution No. 1335 supporting an interim traffic improvement solution that would address in a more timely manner, the congestion and traffic safety problems that now exist in downtown Wickenburg and allow the Arizona Department of Transportation adequate time to study a long-term solution that can be designed, funded and constructed while keeping in mind the needs of the citizens and the economic well-being of the Town of Wickenburg.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Wickenburg, Arizona, as follows:

  1. The Town of Wickenburg supports an interim alternate traffic solution that would start east of the existing Hassayampa Bridge, crossing the river with a bridge whose westerly abutment would be north of the Sols Wash confluence with the Hassayampa River, continuing in a northerly direction along the west side of the river and tie into U.S. Highway 93 at an appropriate point on North Tegner Street within the Town limits; and,
  2. The Town of Wickenburg is opposed to any interim alternate route that would keep the pass-through traffic flow within the historic area of Wickenburg or which would pass in close proximity to existing homes, schools, or public facilities.
